What makes a team?

Our teams function like small communities or families – they are organic, moving, growing, always reproducible, simply following Jesus (Isa al-Masih) and encouraging of others to follow Him in spirit and truth. This model is based on the New Testament (the Injil) scriptures, following our Lord’s command to “go and make disciples of all nations (ethne),” even to “the ends of the earth” (Matthew 28:19; Acts 1:8).

Teams that are sent to the Muslim world usually consist of six adults and their families. Teams can form out of existing fellowships (groups or churches), natural social communities, or they can be created by grouping people with a common vision. Ideally, a team leader steps forward with a passionate vision from God to see Him glorified. Seasoned Frontiers leaders or mentors come alongside to help the team leader gather and launch a team to love and serve Muslims in their world. (Check out our section on Church-Based Teams for more information on how to send a long-term team from your own fellowship.)

Frontiers is actively seeking new team leaders in forming new communities to engage the 247 Muslim People Groups with populations over 100,000 who have no living testimony to Jesus in their midst. If this gets your heart beating faster, contact us now so we can help you make your vision a reality.
