Crisis Response (I.C.R.N.)

Our Vision

Discerning God’s heart, it is the vision of the International Crisis Relief Network to strategically mobilize the body of Christ to engage in chronic, predictable or sudden crises and disasters which present unique & rare opportunities to serve suffering Muslim Communities in need in order to establish or support communities of believers following Jesus.

Our Network

ICRN is not an entity with its own resources. Rather, as a tool of Frontiers, it seeks to serve existing faith communities, organizations and individuals, facilitating a cooperative effort with love and respect to invite all Muslim peoples to follow Jesus through acts of compassion, in the face of crisis.

Faith Communities bring both human and financial resources into the field of operation.

Expert Relief Organizations bring expertise and supplies in specialized fields of crisis relief functions and services.

Volunteer Ready Reserves bring qualified availability for deployment in crisis relief projects organized by ICRN.

In a cooperative network, partners accomplish exceedingly more by working together than could be dreamed of by working alone!

Faith Communities

Consistent with Frontiers’ historical values and practice, ICRN seeks to empower the local church to send resources into the field. We thank God for the invaluable partnerships we have and will continue to build these “serving” relationships as we carry out crisis relief operations that lead to communities of believers following Jesus. ICRN will maintain a database of faith communities interested in receiving ICRN related updates and alerts via email.

Key Regional Churches—Within the United States, we seek to recruit key regional faith communities for the purpose of decentralizing coordination and training opportunities, as well as, to develop a higher level of participation among very like-hearted/minded faith communities. Ideally, these faith communities are spread out strategically over the whole country, making participation in ICRN operations more accessible and affordable to more people.

Expert Relief Organizations

There exists a plethora of organizations that function to bring specific expertise to the field with regards to crisis relief. These include, but are not limited to, expertise pertaining to clean water, sanitation, agriculture, education, medical care, and food supplies. ICRN will cultivate working partnerships with select organizations in various fields of expertise.

Volunteer Ready Reserves

Through recruitment and training, ICRN will develop a cadre of qualified and approved volunteers to deploy into crisis relief projects. Volunteers who possess particular skills and experience will function as “specialists” on crisis relief teams. Most volunteers will function as “generalists” under the direction and leadership of a specialist. To become a volunteer, start by filling out The Journey.

These crisis relief projects are generally two weeks long. Occasionally, longer projects are organized which may last for several months.

Funding—Volunteers fund their trips by raising financial support through their own network of family, friends and local church.
